Hand and Fingers Robot
What is the Hand and Fingers Robot?
The system is the only mechatronic Hand and Fingers rehabilitation
device that allows each finger, including the thumb, to work independently or
together. The Finger Robot concept is a mechatronic rehabilitation device in
the field of robotic rehabilitation, used for motor function disorders in the
distal parts of the upper extremities.
With its patented mechanism, the device simulates the
movement and natural grasping motion of the patient's hand. The movement and
force can be adjusted according to the patient's needs. During treatment, the
patient sits comfortably in front of the device. The patient's arm is
supported, and the fingers are attached to the device, preparing the patient
for an automatic sequence of movements.
Depending on the patient's requirements, passive or active movements are performed, which are also recorded by sensors in the device. The most significant feature of this system is that it enables rehabilitation after hand surgery. Since the success rate of surgeries decreases without sufficient rehabilitation, robotic hand rehabilitation is crucial. Like other robotic systems, it is also successfully used in the treatment of paralysis due to brain and spinal cord injuries or nerve damage in the hands.
